Draft Social Impact Management Plan

Social Impact Plan

QGC has submitted its draft Social Impact Management Plan to the Queensland Government as part of the final steps towards approval of our Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).

The plan allows the community, councils and government to see how the Queensland Curtis LNG project will manage its positive and negative social impacts. This is the first time a Social Impact Management Plan has been used to support the approval process following recent government policy that requires companies to demonstrate fully their social management systems.

It relied on the results of EIS consultation with more than 1,000 stakeholders, with extra studies on issues such as The Narrows crossing, boating, land use in the gas fields and housing needs.

Over the next few months the plan will be refined through consultation with key stakeholders. A final version is due in June.
