Natural gas

Natural gas, as the fossil fuel with the lowest carbon emissions, has an important role in helping address climate change.
Natural gas emits 22% less carbon dioxide than oil and 40% less than coal to produce the same amount of energy.
Gas also is the most energy efficient fossil fuel – it offers important energy savings when it is used instead of oil or coal. It is regarded as the world’s transition fuel as we move away from hydrocarbons to cleaner energy sources.
Liquefaction technology means that natural gas has the potential to be delivered to, and used by, any consumer market in the world.
